How to Grow Magic Molly Potatoes: Purple Potatoes
These purple potatoes are a must see, and we can't wait to sample them for the first time! We are so excited to plant a new to us variety of purple potatoes this spring. These are purple Magic Molly potatoes, and they look and are supposed to taste absolutely amazing, boiled, grilled, roasted, or even made into purple potato chips! This is a newer variety of potato that has been around since 2007, and it is a perfect potato for growing even in cooler zones. The potato typically takes about 75-105, depending on the desired harvest size. In the YouTube video (link below) we talk about the purple potato, show how we fertilize the soil for optimal growth, and show how we plant these potatoes. For this variety, we are growing potatoes in containers that are made of food safe plastic. For fertilizer, we are using an all purpose organic fertilizer, a mycorrhizal root enhancer that uses only one type of mycorrhizae, and bone meal.
